Employee professional training support II (POVEZ II)
The POVEZ II project is involved in the adaptability of the company workforce in the constantly changing situation of the market. In order to increase their competitiveness and expand their operations, employers must have a qualified workforce. The POVEZ II project therefore addresses both the problem of inconsistency between skills and qualifications offered and required, i.e. the inadequate flexibility of the workforce (including professional flexibility), and the reluctance of employers to invest in the training of their employees.
Objectives of the project
The main objective of the project is to help employers in the professional training of their current and newly hired employees, and entrepreneurs themselves, to enable them to respond flexibly to the changing situation and conditions of the market. The project strives to maintain and increase the competitiveness and adaptability of companies and employees, including the adaptability of older workers. For company development and their economic growth, it opens up space for maintaining existing jobs and creating new ones. Employers intending to expand their operations into new areas, possibly transfer to a new production program, are likewise able to become involved in the project. The intermediate objectives of the project include supporting business potential and speeding up the economic activities of Czech companies towards stable growth and development; for employees, it means improving the ability to maintain their employment, develop their careers and increase their professional mobility. In general, the project is supposed to lead to an increase in the flexibility of the workforce and likewise decrease in any considerable mismatch in the labor market between what the workforce offers and what employers need in terms of qualifications for job openings. In order to maintain the effectiveness of the desired training, the employer’s financial contribution is fixed at 15% of the eligible costs for training.
Relationship to other projects
The POVEZ II project builds on a series of projects that have been carried out in the Czech Republic since 2009 to promote the professional development of employees. It directly follows up the POVEZ project and replaces the project “Educate yourselves for growth!”, which proved themselves as instruments of support for the further education and enhancement of the competitiveness of the workforce in the labor market of the Czech Republic.
